Lync Wealth Management has acquired two Hampshire-based financial planning firms, bringing around £210m of assets under advice (AUA) to the business.
It has acquired Scott Financial and Latham Consultancy, both of which are located in Fleet, Hampshire.
Scott Financial provides financial planning and wealth management services to around 700 individuals and families across approximately £155m in AUA.
It was founded by Paul and Wendy Scott in 2003, with their son, James Scott, an adviser at the firm and their daughter, Amy Scott, a paraplanner.
Both James and Amy will join Lync alongside adviser, Sophie Donoghue, and six support colleagues.
Latham Consultancy also provides financial planning services and has around £55m of AUA.
Its adviser, Mark Latham, has been building client relationships for 35 years and working with Scott Financial since 2018.
Clients of both firms will continue to work with their existing advisers and support team from Scott Financial’s Fleet office.
Both companies will move to the Lync brand, with clients set to gain access to additional resources, expertise, and scale.
Lync already has an existing presence in Fleet at its hub in the Fleet Business Park in Church Crookham.
The wealth management firm is owned by an affiliate of the 7IM Group and has over 25 locations and more than 220 staff, serving clients with more than £4.4bn of assets under management.
“Paul, Wendy and the team have spent more than 20 years building a business their clients trust, and with the next generation already working in the firm, they’re clearly thinking about the long term as much as we are,” commented 7IM and Lync chief corporate development officer, Agustin Fernandez.
“Mark too has built a strong business based on trusted client relationships that span generations.
“Both firms give us a stronger base in the southeast as we keep growing across the UK. Our approach is to find good advice firms that share our outlook, give them the expertise and resources of Lync and 7IM’s private wealth capabilities, and leave the client relationships they’ve built with their advisers.”
