People moves: PIMFA, Polar Capital Holdings, and Fairlight Capital Partners

The Personal Investment Management and Financial Advice Association (PIMFA) has appointed Stuart Cummins to its board of directors.

Cummins is chief executive officer of Nedbank Private Wealth, with overall responsibility for managing the company’s UK and international wealth operations across all its office locations outside of South Africa. During his career, Cummins has undertaken senior roles in Cazenove Capital, C. Hoare & Co. and Barclays Wealth. His focus has been on developing high-net-worth relationship and advice businesses across wealth management, private banking and corporate banking.

Polar Capital Holdings has named Iain Evans as CEO designate after Gavin Rochussen announced his decision to retire.

Rochussen has informed the firm’s board of his intention to retire as CEO after eight years in the role. Following the Annual General Meeting on 25 September 2025, Rochussen will step down from the board and his role as CEO. He will remain an employee, serving out the remainder of his notice period, to provide support and an orderly handover. Polar Capital global head of distribution, Iain Evans, has been appointed as CEO designate. Subject to regulatory approval, it is anticipated that Evans will assume the role of CEO and join the board in September.

Fairlight Capital Partners has announced the appointment of Matt Nagele as UK CEO.

Founded in 2018, Fairlight Capital Partners seeds, backs and builds specialist investment managers. It is launching into the UK through a strategic partnership with Bowmoor Capital and will seek to develop additional select partnerships over time. Nagele brings more than 30 years of experience in the asset management industry to the role. He spent a decade as head of global distribution at Old Mutual Asset Managers, and he has also held senior roles at firms including Castle Trust Capital plc, Janus Capital, and MacKay Shields. Nagele will assume responsibility for driving growth among professional investors and wealth managers in the UK.
