Aoris launches global equity fund for UK investors

Aoris Investment Management has launched a selective global equity fund for UK investors, the WS Aoris Global Fund.

The investment manager, which is based in Sydney, Australia, said the fund offered a differentiated approach though portfolio concentration, valuation discipline, and a focus on business durability.

Bringing Aoris’ ‘Quality First, Value Investing’ approach via an OEIC, the fund owns a maximum of 15 global companies.

Each of these companies must demonstrate their business quality, financial strength, customer relevance, and management capabilities, alongside an attractive valuation, for inclusion.

Certain industries and business sectors are excluded from consideration, including banks, insurers, commodity businesses, emerging markets, and highly regulated companies such as those in the healthcare sector.

Aoris said these sectors were excluded from being included in the fund for reasons of risk.

The firm also highlighted its willingness to sell at the earliest signs of fade, with Aoris founder and chief investment officer, Stephen Arnold, stating: “We are acutely aware of the reality of fade.

“We want to be patient, long-term owners of exceptional businesses, but at the same time, we recognise that quality isn’t permanent.

“It’s not only the size of the moat that matters, but whether it is getting larger or smaller. We look for durable quality.”

The fund is available through the Interactive Investor platform, with others set to follow.
