Wealthtech firm Flanks has partnered with artificial intelligence (AI) platform Perplexity to give financial advisers access to wealth data through the platform.
The partnership will bring Flanks’ regulated, multi-bank aggregated data from more than 700 financial institutions to Perplexity’s AI ecosystem.
Wealth managers and advisers will be able to query live portfolio data, run client reporting, and assess investment positions and transaction history, and take action on those insights through Perplexity’s AI workflows.
Flanks is among the first European wealth data providers in Perplexity’s ecosystem, integrating this data into AI workflows.
The wealthtech firm noted while that wealth managers were increasingly exploring AI agents for time-intensive work, the data feeding those agents needed to be complete, accurate, and compliant.
It said that regulated, multi-institutional portfolio data had traditionally been one of the hardest layers to standardise, and the partnership aims to put that data into an AI workflow advisers were already using.
Private banks and financial advisers can also use Flanks’ data in Perplexity’s features such as client reporting, client portfolio monitoring, meeting preparations, and ETF overlap.
"Financial advisers are drowning in fragmented data - stitched together across custodians, spreadsheets and legacy providers, with no single source of truth,” said Flanks co-founder and CEO, Joaquim de la Cruz.
“That's the barrier stopping most institutions from actually harnessing AI, no matter how good the model is.
“The real opportunity isn't another standalone tool solving one task in isolation, but connecting AI into a system that works across the full advisory process. Perplexity's ecosystem is selective, and being included early reflects how well our data fits its enterprise banking workflows - reporting, meeting preparation, portfolio monitoring.
“Wealth professionals are going to work through AI agents, and we're making sure the data underneath is reliable and AI-ready."
Perplexity head of live event products, Jeff Grimes, added: "Millions of users rely on Perplexity Finance to find and take action upon their own licensed financial data subscriptions.
“Flanks brings something different with regulated, institution-grade coverage across European banks and wealth institutions, which is the level of data quality our users need to trust AI with real portfolio decisions.
“It's exactly the kind of data infrastructure partner we want powering the next generation of financial workflows on Perplexity, worldwide."
