Isio has completed the acquisition of Collidr and combined the firms’ investment management and technology capabilities to launch an expanded offering for financial advisers.
The acquisition was completed after Isio received approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), with Collidr becoming part of Isio Investment Solutions.
Isio’s model portfolio service (MPS) will now be provided using Collidr’s technology, comprising a range of portfolio options built from the same investment infrastructure and supported by Isio’s institutional investment capabilities.
The MPS will now be available on more than 20 platforms through Collidr’s existing relationships, up from around 10 prior to the acquisition.
Advisers and their clients will be able to access a broader range of investment solutions and tools through the combined proposition, which brings together MPS, funds, research, and technology.
Isio said Collidr’s expertise in co-manufactured MPS would support its ambition to become a leading player in the UK MPS market and compete for larger strategic adviser partnerships.
The Collidr Select Portfolio MPS range will also be added to adviser performance and due diligence comparison tools for the first time, while Isio will look to bring Collidr’s technology to other investment clients over time.
“Completing the acquisition means we can now bring the combined strengths of Isio and Collidr directly to advisers,” said Isio partner and head of wealth, Andy Tunningley.
“We have a broader MPS offering, available across more platforms and supported by Collidr’s technology, alongside Isio’s institutional investment expertise.
“Bringing MPS, funds, research and technology together gives us a strong platform for growth and for building larger strategic adviser partnerships.
“Our ambition is to become a top five player in the UK MPS market and this is an important step towards that.”
Collidr founder, Symon Stickney, added: “Joining Isio gives us the opportunity to take what we have built at Collidr to a much wider adviser market.
“Our focus has always been on combining technology and investment expertise to help advisers make better-informed decisions and deliver better outcomes for their clients.
“Together with Isio’s investment expertise, scale and reach, we now have a broader proposition and a strong base from which to develop new partnerships.”
