People moves: AJ Bell, Quilter Cheviot, and Stephenson Harwood

AJ Bell has announced the appointment of Michael Sawh as senior portfolio manager at AJ Bell Investments.

Reporting to head of investment solutions, James Flintoft, Sawh will support portfolio management on AJ Bell’s model portfolio service (MPS) and multi-asset funds. Sawh joins AJ Bell having held a range of investment management and research roles across single and multi-asset investment portfolios at Swiss Re, GAM, Bfinance and SCM Private.

Quilter Cheviot has named John Moore as an investment manager in its Edinburgh office.

Moore joins the firm following a career spanning more than 30 years in discretionary investment management. Most recently, he served as divisional director at RBC Brewin Dolphin, where he worked with independent financial advisers and high net worth clients. During his career, Moore has developed expertise in investment and wealth management, as well as portfolio construction.

Law firm Stephenson Harwood has appointed Laura Hasson as partner in its Private Wealth Disputes practice.

Hasson brings more than a decade of experience advising on complex, high-value disputes in the UK and internationally, specialising in contentious trusts and offshore matters. She joins Stephenson Harwood from Clifford Chance, where she spent 13 years, most recently as senior associate. Hasson also has experience advising individuals and organisations on commercial disputes.
