Quilter has appointed Justin Towlson as head of sales for strategic growth.

Towlson joins Quilter from Wesleyan, where he served as regional sales manager. Prior to that, he had a long career at Aegon progressing through various roles, most recently as sales director. Reporting to Quilter distribution director, Nigel Jeffries, Towlson will focus on developing new business opportunities for Quilter’s platform, strengthening relationships across the UK intermediary market, and working with regional distribution teams to support advisers and their clients.

Rathbones Group has named Angela Seymour-Jackson and Kathryn Purves as independent non-executive directors (NED).

Seymour-Jackson and Purves will become members of the Risk, Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees following their appointments to the board. Seymour-Jackson has over 30 years of experience in retail financial services. She is currently chair of PageGroup and a NED of Janus Henderson, Trustpilot Group, and Future. Seymour-Jackson previously served as CEO of RAC Motoring Services and held senior executive roles at Aegon UK and Aviva, among others. Purves has experience across investment management, wealth advisory, private equity-backed businesses, and risk and governance. She most recently served as CEO of Aztec Group. Prior to this, she was group CEO of IFG Group, and has served as chair of Risk Committee at Nucleus and ICG. Purves was also chair of Redington and Saunderson House. She has held senior executive roles, including chief risk officer of Partnership Assurance Group, and investment roles at Phoenix Equity, Deutsche Bank, Partners and UBS Capital.

Ocorian has appointed Richard Hansford as head of growth EMEA.

Hansford brings more than 20 years’ experience partnering with alternative investment managers across asset classes and joined Ocorian 14 years ago. In his new role, he will work closely with global teams to accelerate growth and deepen client relationships across the firm’s integrated platform. Ocorian said Hansford’s appointment supported its strategy to deliver a more connected offering spanning fund administration, governance, compliance and investor reporting.
