People moves: FNZ, Quilter Cheviot, and Sparrows Capital

Wealth management platform FNZ has appointed Cornelia Coman and Tom Chard to its executive committee.

Coman joins as group head of Europe and will lead FNZ’s strategy across key European markets. She brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services, having held senior executive roles at ING Bank and NN Group. Chard has been named as group head of growth, a newly created role aimed at accelerating FNZ’s next phase of expansion. He joined FNZ in 2018, most recently serving as group head of North America.

Quilter Cheviot has hired Phil Ross as an equity research analyst to lead its analysis of insurance and utilities companies.

Ross joins from Exane BNP Paribas, where he was the lead analyst for European reinsurance companies. He has also held insurance company analyst roles at Berenberg and Mediobanca, as well as serving as chief of staff to the head of the Prudential Regulation Authority earlier in his career. Ross will report to head of equity research, Chris Beckett, and work closely with the teams that manage the Climate Assets funds and the Managed Portfolio Service Building Blocks funds.

Discretionary fund management (DFM) firm Sparrows Capital has appointed James Denton as business development manager.

This is the firm’s third business development management hire this year, following the appointments of Paul Fox and Michelle Liseli as business development managers in March. Denton joins from Foresight Group, where he was an executive business development manager responsible for working closely with financial advisers. Prior to this, he was a sales support executive at World Pay.
