Financial advisory firm Abacus Advisers has opened a new office in Glasgow as it seeks to expand its market presence in Scotland.
The firm is part of the Saltus Wealth Partnership and manages more than £1bn of investments, and has established offices across England.
Its Glasgow office is located in the city’s international financial services district and will serve as a regional hub for the firm as it looks to grow its client base and adviser community.
Abacus Advisers said it had immediate plans to expand further, with recruitment already underway to add further staff to the team.
The firm argued that Glasgow had established itself as one of the UK’s most important financial services centres, as it had a strong pipeline of talent and a growing demand for quality financial advice.
It added that its new presence in the city would enable the firm to be closer to existing clients in the region and reach new clients, offering tailored financial advice and services to both the private and corporate sectors.
“As a Glaswegian, opening an office here has always been a personal ambition, but it is also a strategic step for the business,” commented Abacus Advisers’ Sam Lang.
“Glasgow is an important hub for financial services and talent, and having a local presence allows us to better support clients across Scotland while building a strong community of advisers in the region.
“With the backing of Saltus, we are well placed to invest for the long term and grow in a way that supports both our clients and our people.”
Alongside Abacus Associates and Duchy IFA, the Abacus group has more than 150 advisers across over 10,000 private clients in the UK, with £3bn of client assets under management.
Abacus Advisers is a trading style of the Saltus Wealth Partnership.
