Accelerating global wealth mobility is intensifying cross-border complexity, leading to new and increased risks for high net worth individuals (HNWI) and wealth professionals, Rathbones CEO of wealth, Camilla Stowell, has warned.

Stowell stated that internationally mobile HNWIs and the wealth professionals working with them may risk significant financial losses, or potentially legal action, as complexity rises.

She added that these challenges were placing new and increasingly onerous burdens on how people plan and manage their finances internationally.

Speaking to CBS, Stowell emphasised the rising complexity of international wealth mobility and its impact on global financial planning.

The financial planning and investment management industries were urged to keep pace to support clients with navigating regulatory and logistical issues.
